It has been a very busy last two months. Two months ago, Leslie and I were in Kansas City, surrounded by boxes, eating year old wedding cake (and throwing most of it away). We moved to Houston, where I am the Associate Director of Houston's First Baptist Church's Faith Center, Leslie is teaching 8th Grade Science, and we are doing life.
Ministry is great...I have been learning quite a bit (and continue to do so). The Faith Center is such a unique place. It has impacted quite a many of people over the years, including myself. I'm thankful to be in a place where everyday I am met with being the hands and feet of Jesus. I do not have to join a service project, nor do I have to "find" ministry. It is thrown into my face daily, in new and exciting ways. I have been reminded that I have so much to learn, and am in a wonderful place to do so.
We are greatly missing fall right now. They said on the news the other night that fall weather was arriving....the temps were getting into the mid 80's....hmmm...I don't know about that.
I find myself greatly enwrapped in my first big project-The Christmas Store, a yearly gift distribution to those in need in our communities. It is an incredible project. It takes over 500 volunteers to be a success. Over everything, its purpose is to shine the Gospel into people's lives. Thankful I get to be a part of such a great opportunity.
