How to do I describe my first month of being on board the staff at Wornall Road Baptist Church? Probably lots of things could describe it, but overall, it has been encouraging beyond belief. I love being in and a part of a place where there is always something going on. Being a part of a church that is connected to 15 church plants, including 4 that share our building, is fun beyond imagine. The times I get to spend in my office are great, as I get to talk with and encourage the various pastors of those plants that stop in.
I really have enjoyed being able to come into Wornall Road, and begin to strengthen areas that need strengthened, under the leadership of our lead pastor. Not that I have anything special to offer besides willingness, but the ability to strengthen, if only by man power, things in our church to push it forward, is a joy. It's a joy to sit in an office, assess a situation, and take action immediately on it.
As a church, and especially as it comes from the pastor/elders, we have a desire to bring glory to God in what we do. We desire, above all else, to be faithful to the Word of God, and to allow it to LITERALLY change people's lives.
The GOSPEL changes lives. It shakes the soul. It forever changes our entire lives. It changes the way we view ourselves and the World. It changes the way we make decisions. It changes the way we treat people.
I'm so humbled, and so thankful to God, that He has brought me to the place He has. I get to work alongside a group of elder/pastors, as well as many others in our church, who love the Word of God, and take it serious.
Wornall Road Baptist Church. It's not a perfect church. Come hang out with us for a day...you'll realize it very quick. However, it is a group of people that God is using to change our city, one church plant, one family, one person, at a time. And all...for the Glory of God.
