I just got done today meeting with pastors, church planters and other men from the assocation our young church is a part of. This consists of churches all over the metro KC area. I had the distinct pleasure of sitting and talking with like minded men who have given their lives to be used in the urban core, some right in my neigbhorhood, some white, some african american, etc. It was a joyous day. Good discussion was had, and I believe we are starting to see the Lord opening some hearts for the city amongst our assocation.
The day was very encouraging. I came away, however thinking a few things. No matter what people group in the city we are trying to reach, what color skin they have, etc, we desperately need your help. And I do not mean we need your help so that we can "FINALLY" build that new building. We need your help, your resources, your time, your energies, in furthering the Gospel presence. This may flesh itself out in time you can give, finances you can give, resources you can give, prayer you can give, encouragement you can give, etc.
I'm pretty blunt these days, and I'm not bashful to ask-We Need Help, and we need it from you if you are reading this. Ours is a church that has very little resources, but a great deal of hope and faith. Please contact me if you have a heart to help. I promise you, if you have a desire, we have a need in almost any category.
Our City, Kansas City, and specifically the Urban Core, need YOU.
